Salmon Fishing in Denmark?

Magnificant fish like the one below are the reason why even the Norwegians (yes!) travel to Jutland to fish the Skjern Å  für Springers.

The largest Salmon so far this season was caught on 19th April by Olaf Solberg from Norway (!) on a Green Highlander. Olaf’s fished weighed in at 20.4Kg, a magnificent 121cm Springer fresh in from the sea. Well done, ‘shame it wasn’t released!  Beside this whopper, several salmon in the 10Kg – 17Kg bracket have been caught (click here for catch reports). Not bad for a country which you don’t normally associate with salmon fishing and they have some decent beer as well.

If you are interested in Fishing on the Skjern or any of the other top salmon rivers in Jutland (and there are few of them) – then contact Costas at  Fisknu.dk he will organise the tickets for you and set you up with a guide.

Enjoy it and “skitfiske“.

We will be traveling to Denmark in August 2013. We like to arrange for a salmon/ fishing trip. Can you refer us to anything in English to look for fishing trips/guide. Do you know of a good web site or tour operator for questions regarding traveling in Denmark? We appreciate whatever input you can provide us.
    Thank you.

Peggy, thanks for your enquiry. We do have a dealer based on the Skjern, who has guides for that and other rivers close by. I will look into it and get back to you within the next few days.
What type of tour operator are you looking for and where will you be travelling from?
