Speydicator These lines come in six sizes starting at WF4/18g. They all have a short 21 to 23 foot (6.4m to 7.0m) head with a long 12 to 15 foot (3.7m to 4.6m) rear taper. Behind the rear taper is a 25 to 30 foot ( 7.6m to 9.1m) heavy level mending zone. The combination of the rear taper and mending zone allows the fly fisher to reposition the head after casting and still have enough mass to stack mend line after 60' / 18.3m or more.
Originally designed for switch rods, the line works equally well on spey rods. To keep things simple, if you have a 7wt switch or spey, go with a 7wt Speydicator. No need to overline. The lines come with a black sleeve that identifies the rear taper. For casting with a switch rod, strip the sleeve into the guides down to about your upper hand before you cast. For casting with "grown up" spey rod, hang it right outside the tip. Make no mistake, this line is a workhorse.
This is a BIG line, please ensure that you have enough space on your reel to accommodate the line. 200yds of 20# micron should leave plenty of room on a standard 9/10 reel. And if thats pushing it, cut the last 20' of running line off and weld a new loop, there's plenty there. After all, its polyurethane.
Designed by Tim Rajeff and a group of Great lakes Steelhead freaks who wish to remain nameless. Manufactured by AirFlo in the UK
