ECHO Classic Two Hand Rods
Classic Spey Rods
The Echo Classic Spey Rods
are designed to get a person started fishing a two handed rod, and as such the ECHO classic series are well balanced and have a modest action. The key to a good all-round two hand rod is its action and power. The ECHO Classic series of rods have well balanced blend of action and power to help people new to the sport make better casts. The #6/7 and #7/8 rods have a smooth / modest feel, which makes throwing floating lines and Skagit heads easy. They are popular for medium to large rivers for small to medium sized Steelhead and Salmon. The #8/9 and #9/10 rods are a little more powerful in the butt to help cast bigger flies into the wind and to help get a sink tip line to the surface prior to making the delivery cast. Great for bigger water, bigger fish, bigger grins.
The rods all have chrome plated, stainless steel, single foot snake guides on all but the bottom two guides. The bottom stripper guides are stainless steel frames with a highly polished ceramic ring insert to reduce friction and to provide a lifetime of use. The reel seats are all clear anodized to match the guide color and logo color. The blanks have a deep gloss green finish. The handle has a comfortable shape that allows the person to move their hands around until they find a place that feel best to them.
12' 6" AFTM #6/7 Spey Rod
The ECHO 12'6" #6/7 fly rod was designed primarily for summer run fish and or for medium sized rivers that don't require casts much over 100 feet. It is a medium stiff medium action rod. It is designed for Steelhead, Atlantic salmon, and large trout using any of the family of "Spey" casts. It can also be used with a sink tip or a Skagit head or Skagit line to get a fly down to the fish. The rod can handle a wide range of lines but feels good with a standard Delta Spey or Windcutter type line that has a head length of about 50 feet and a head weight of about 500 grains.
