The Echo2 Scandinavian
family of two-hand rods can do two things well; they cast both the shorter shooting head style lines and Skagit style sink tip lines. The secret to being able to do this with one rod is the two tip feature. ECHO 2 rods come with two tips. Unlike other two hand rods that come with a spare tip the ECHO 2 two-hand rods have two tips with a different stiffness making the rod perform like two different rods. The softer tip is labeled with an "A" and the stiffer tip is labeled with a "D". Use the "A" tip with floating lines or shooting heads. When casting a Skagit head used the "D" tip and about 150 grains more weight than the floating head. These rods are commonly used for Atlantic salmon or Pacific Coast Steelhead, but also feel great when casting shooting heads for Stripers or Pacific Salmon. Here in Europe our clients also use them to catch Sea Trout, Pike, Zander and Asp (Aspius aspius).
Echo2 Scandi rods come in a rich burgundy coloured blank with a full range of high-end components. The high-grade cork handle comes in a modified full-wells design. The stripping guides are made with a new extra hard "illusion plasma coating system" in titanium coated frames.

The ECHO2 12’4” #7 was designed to bring the ease of Scandinavian style Spey casting to people fishing in medium to large rivers where extreme distance is not important. It is also a great rod for overhead casting in the surf zones where heavy rods are not necessary. Like most lighter two hand rods the 7124 ECHO2 will allow a person to fish all day without tiring in the least. . It has a fast action when the “A” tip is used and has a medium fast action when the “D” tip is used. The rod is designed to throw medium to large flies.

The ECHO2 12’4” #8 is the most popular rod for Scandinavian or underhand casting. The 8124 ECHO2 is the best all around rod to fish large rivers with most fly patterns. It was also designed to throw Skagit style heads to dredge for steelhead that refuse to rise to a fly. It has a fast action when the “A” tip is used and has a medium fast action when the “D” tip is used. The rod is designed to throw medium to very large flies.

ECHO2 12'6" (381cm) #9 Scandinavian
The ECHO2 12’6” #9 was designed for big flies and long casts. The fact that you are using bigger flies and casting farther will not cause you to tire easily. The 12’6” rod feels light in the hand even though it has extra power in the butt to help lift ridiculously large flies. Besides working great with Scandinavian heads the rod easily handles Skagit heads with insane sink tips. It has a fast action when the “A” tip is used and has a medium fast action when the “D” tip is used. The rod is designed to throw medium to articulated flies that would scare most fish.
